Notice of Budget Committee Meeting

A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Athena Weston School District, Umatilla, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018, will be held at Athena Elementary Library 375 South Fifth Street, Athena, OR. The meeting will take place on May 8, 2017 at 6 p.m..

The purpose of this meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget.

This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.

A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained on or after May 9, 2017 at Athena Weston School District between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m..

Two New Busses

The new buses have arrived! The two new buses will hold 84 passengers and will be used for both daily routes and activity trips. These new, rear engine buses will have a very smooth ride. The new buses are part of the 2016 Bond that was approved by district voters. Thank you!

Four buses are now in use by the district. A 77 passenger bus is used on the mountain route and a 12 passenger bus is used for preschoolers and activities.

TigerScots Shine at Pendleton Track Meet

The Athena-Weston Tiger Scots had a great showing at the 26th Annual Buck Track Classic on Thursday, March 23 in Pendleton. Twenty-five high school track teams from across eastern Oregon and southeast Washington competed at the meet, the largest group of athletes in the event’s history.

2017-18 Kindergarten Registration

Attention All! It's time for Kindergarten Registration for the 2017-18 school year! To be eligible for kindergarten this fall, students must turn five no later than September 1, 2017. Please pick up your kindergarten registration packet at the Athena Elementary School office between April 3rd-April 28th and return completed registration packet no later than May 1st, also include immunization records and birth certificate (copies cane be made in the office.) We will schedule your child's assessment at that time for Wednesday, May 3rd between 3pm-6pm.
